Happy New Year!
Welcome to the first issue of NEWS.
I hope to produce further issues on at least a quarterly basis. If you have any comments, suggestions or queries regarding my work, the website
or this newsletter, do get in touch – either through the Visitor Book, or by email, phone or letter. I'll be glad to hear from you.

Award-winning photograph
Coping Stones
Coping Stones – the centrepiece of my solo exhibition in Plockton during September – won the Photography Prize in the 2003 Annual Open Competition, held at An Tuireann Arts Centre in the Isle of Skye in November. Entries in the fields of painting, photography and crafts come from throughout Skye and Lochalsh, and the exhibits were on show until 17th January. Even if you didn't manage a personal visit to An Tuireann, you can see the winning photograph in the website exhibition space.

"Keeping Art Afloat"
Floats on the rocks
This illustrated feature – in the November issue of the Scots Magazine – profiled Skye artist Hermione Lamond, who combines art with craft and produces painted fishing floats. Have a look at the online exhibition of her work.

Isle of Rona
Isle of Rona

In October I spent a week in the bothy on South Rona, hoping to gather some photographs and possibly enough words for another illustrated feature article. I came away with both, and the article is due for publication in the spring. Watch this space for more information and have a look at an online preview of some of the pictures!

Online shop
The online shop is now up and running. This is an exciting new addition to the website. You can browse through the stock of prints, greetings cards and postcards, and place your order either through our secure server or by printed order form. The shop is open all hours, so you can visit any time...

Wishing you all the best for 2004,

Terry Williams
