Welcome to summer NEWS

Summer seems to be a non-stop round of early morning photography, keeping my outlets supplied and working on the projects that I hope will come to fruition over the next few months. When there's a moment to stand and stare, I am still stunned by the beauty that surrounds me here in Skye. It's a bit like living in a treasure chest! I hope you can share some of it through my photographs.

You can receive this newsletter in print format four times a year for a small annual subscription to cover costs and postage. Send me your name, address and phone number, with a cheque for £5 (payable to Terry Williams), and I'll send you the next four issues. The newsletter is also available free by email - let me know if you'd like to receive copies.

If you have any comments or queries regarding my work, the website
or this newsletter, do get in touch – I'll be glad to hear from you.

Online shop re-opens!

At last, the refurbishment is complete, and the online shop offers a new selection from my portfolio, along with some old favourites.

These are open edition, signed, fine art giclée prints, carefully produced to order in my own studio, ready for your choice of mount and frame. A new size and new presentation. are already proving popular through my Skye outlets. You can see a sample on the shop reception page.

Please visit and browse, and let me know what you think. The shop contains my selection - I am always happy to expand the range to meet your preferences, so if an image in the portfolio catches your eye but isn't in the shop yet, do contact me, as it may be possible to make a print for you.

If you would like a printed catalogue of the images available, I can send one on receipt of a cheque for £5.00 sterling, payable to Terry Williams (£7 overseas), deductible from your next order.

Torrin hosts exhibitions

The Blue Shed Café in Torrin has initiated a regular series of "meet the artist" events, which it is hoped will become an established feature of the summer season.

In June and July, I was invited to show two small exhibitions accompanied by unmounted prints and greetings cards for sale. I spent a day in the café, meeting customers and chatting to them about about what I do and why I do it, after which the exhibitions remained on show for the following week.

The two collections can be seen online in the portfolio galleries: Juxtapositions and Nature's Paintbox.

New outlet

Those of you visiting the north east of Scotland can now see some of my work in a new gallery, Beauly Gallery and Gifts, which opened earlier this year in a restored church building on the outskirts of Beauly, near Inverness. It's a beautiful gallery, with an excellent coffee shop as well as a fine collection of arts and crafts.

I was delighted to be invited to contribute to the venture, as it brings my work to a new audience in a different part of the country.

Exclusives for Torrin and Elgol

Bla Bheinn, the mountain framed in my studio window, is irresistible to a photographer. An exclusive series of portraits is available only in Torrin's Blue Shed Café, with its magnificent view of the mountain across Loch Slapin. The coffee and home baking are worth stopping for too! You can see the collection online in the portfolio gallery: Bla Bheinn

Six postcards portray the stunning scenery that provides the backdrop to the village of Elgol, and are on sale exclusively through the Elgol Village Shop - a good reason for a visit!
You can order larger prints from me, either through the online shop or by contacting me directly. The collection is online in the portfolio gallery: Elgol

"Art For All"

The May issue of the Scots Magazine featured the Skye and Lochalsh Studio Trails. I visited a number of the participating artists and craftworkers, and the result is one of the magazine's most ambitious features to date. You can read the article here.

In the pipeline

In May I spent an idyllic few days in Canna, one of the Small Isles, coming away with a feature to be submitted to the Scots Magazine and a handful of photographs that make me determined to go back for more, as soon as I get the chance. The return trip to Mallaig, round Rum, Muck and Eigg, was like a holiday cruise, the weather was so perfect. Such times make a photographer's lot a very happy one!

All good wishes,
